Let`s go into the music room. My walls are completely sound proof and I have a store room where I keep all of my guitars. I have 52 different guitars and 25 different bass guitars in that room.
I have two sets of drums, one is a simple kit and the other is a technical kit. I have three marshall guitar amps which are 90 centimetres tall and one bass guitar amp.

Term 4

Boy we've had a fantastic year in K4 so far! We have been involved in such a lot of new activities and had heaps of fun as we learn.
This term we have three major events to look forward to and we will share these with you.

1. Life Education: We are learning all about our bodies and changes that happen during puberty. We are lucky enough to have Bernie at school to teach us in the caravan with her mate Harold. We have our first lesson tomorrow and we can't wait! In class we will read some interesting books, look at websites and if we have any questions we can ask or add them to the question box.

2. Prom: We are learning lots of cool new dances so we are ready for the prom in week 7. We get to dress up in nice clothes and dance all night. It will be exciting!!

3.ALT ED: In week 8 we take part in Alternative Education for a week. We got to choose from activities like horse riding, crafts, paint balling, tramping, band, christmas cooking, high ropes, stage make up and creating your own movies. It will be AWESOME!!!

We will add some photos after these events :-)

We have had two exciting visits to the Life Education caravan with Bernie and Harold.  Bernie is very colourful and full of enthusiasm and Harold is the coolest giraffe we know! We have learnt heaps about how our bodies change during puberty, the stresses we may face and how we can cope with them. We also found out how our brain works and how drugs can affect our bodies. Did you know that 'homeostasis' means keeping a balance? That's what we are going to try and do in our lives!! We hope you enjoy the photos.  Harold was visiting the Auckland Zoo so we will get some shots of him on our next visit.

Forensic Science with Constable Neil

In week 6-7 we studied forensic science with Constable Neil.
We had a lecture, a crime scene and a court session.
Each class in Kaituna had three sessions with Constable Neil.
Kaituna got to learn about different types of fingerprints and
that everyone in the world has a different fingerprint.
We also learnt that every person's right thumb doesn't match their left thumb.
We pretended that Mrs Hyde's car was stolen and we had to list lots of facts about it. It was fun.
At the crime scene each group was given 3 items. We had to test for DNA and dust for fingerprints. The hardest part was creating a scenario about our scene.
We wrote up our cases, added the evidence and had to be ready to present this to Kaituna Court.  Constable Neil was slimy Mr Green, the defence lawyer. He was really good at this! Mrs Little was the judge, 'Judge Iti'. She was fantastic!!
We learnt heaps and had FUN!!

Monday, 20 May 2013

Dear Norm Hewitt,

Thank you for coming to Mokoia and telling us about your life.

I learnt a lot about how to love an animal and what they need to have a happy life.

My goal in life is to be a world champ at BMX riding.

From,
Ryan Newson.
